Google Mapping in FileMaker: A Study of Techniques

Page history last edited by Michael Lee 14 years, 2 months ago

Mike Lee and Micah Woods explore two ways to bring Google mapping into FileMaker.

Mike and I have taken two fairly different approaches to the same problem which is how to build and display Google Maps in a FileMaker web viewer. Mike took a server-side approach (all files available for download at fmmap.com) while I decided to used our SmartPill plug-in to create a local file. Both approaches work well and have their pros and cons.

Join us to take a look at our solutions and explore the amazing things you can do with Google Maps in FileMaker.

Hmmm, wouldn't be cool if there was a map showing where everyone is from?

Look forward to seeing you there!

P.S. If your picture is wrong or missing on the map or for any other changes, just email me: micah.woods@scodigo.com.

Hey Bruce, I think those are people that just listed their state with now city. In that case, they just end up in OR which I think means the center of the state.

Nice. But somehow a lot of people got attached to Redmond OR, about 10 people.
